It is much simpler to think of detoxing and cleansing as merely eating healthy and exercising. The reality is often much more complex. With consumerism on an upward swing many of us stuff our homes to overflowing with “stuff” that accumulates on every available surface and in every unused drawer. The sight of clutter alone can cause undo stress and a chaotic mind. Clutter can make you complacent and even be a source of depression which often leads to retail therapy which leads to….you guessed it….more clutter…
Freeing up space in your home by tossing out items that are beyond repair, donating what you no longer wear or your kids have outgrown, and organizing what you need, love, or simply want to keep and finding “homes” for those items will do wonders for your energy levels, free up time to do things you really want to do with those you love (including yourself), enhance creativity, and SAVE you money in the long run. Once you get organized you will find it difficult to want to “messify” your home again! Really! I promise.
This post marks the beginning of our series on how to clear the clutter, clean your home, and create a zen-like atmosphere in which you and your family will thrive. Encourage your spouse, significant other, children or roommates to get into the act and, before you know it, you will begin thinking of your home as a paradise instead of a hovel.
