Yoga is quickly topping the charts as the #1 form of exercise in the US and it’s no wonder.  Yoga offers a superlative way to tone and shape the body while taking a break from the stressful world outside.  It offers fitness with balance, in a word.  It is a fantastic form of exercise for those getting ready to conceive as well as being the most gentle yet effective form of exercise for moms-to-be.  It also is a great way to bounce back to your pre-pregnancy shape after pregnancy.  Yoga also is an enormous benefit for those suffering from adrenal fatigue as it aids in releasing endorphins to counteract the effects of stress.  It also offers a soothing effect on the central nervous system signalling to come out of “fight or flight” mode.

There are many additional health benefits of practicing yoga. Yoga is a great form of stress relief, aids in cicrulation, reduces the risk of cancer and lowers the risk of heart disease, among many other benefits. It also feels so amazing to stretch out after being contorted into positions at a desk or other workplace that are just not healthy.

This infographic illustrates the benefits of practicing yoga and should encourage you, if you haven’t already, to take to the mat.  Do you practice yoga?  What health benefits have you seen or felt?
